The purpose of this website is to raise awareness of the planned
demolition of the bowstring bridge and the blue brick viaducts in
Braunstone gate/Duns lane/western boulevard area of Leicester.
The bridge formed part of the railway line through Leicester to
Leicester central station and beyond. After the axe came down on the
railways and the track was taken up, the line became known as the
Great central Way, a cycleway and footpath from Glen Parva to
Leicester.
